Skeye recently inspected another live flare stack on one of the NAM (Shell and Exxon Mobil) production facilities. The reason for the inspection was a pre maintenance inspection of the complete support structure, the stack, the ignition- and steam piping and flare tip.

The drone inspection focused on overall damage, coating, corrosion, loose objects, bolted connections and piping. The complete and detailed data set was interpreted by the NAM inspection department and resulted in a well-prepared maintenance program that has been executed during the planned shutdown.

The added value of this drone inspection within the oil and gas industry results from the cost efficient collection of a complete and detailed data set during production time and a limited shutdown due to the thorough preparation. The drone inspection was execution with one of the Altura Zenith ATX8 that Skeye operates.
